6-Day Wonderful Expedition Southern Tanzania

You will be picked up at the airport or your accommodation in Dar es Salaam and drive to Nyerere National Park (Selous). After arrival, you will check in at Mloka Safari Lodge for lunch and a short rest. In the late afternoon, you will start a boat safari on the Rufijji River. Here, you will spot crocodiles and hippopotamuses, various bird species, and many other animals drinking water in the Rufiji River. Then, after catching beautiful sunset scenes, you will return to Mloka Safari Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will start a full-day game drive at Nyerere National Park with a picnic lunch box that will be served during lunchtime. Our guide will take you through different habitats within the park, including grasslands, forests, and riverbanks. Expect to see a variety of animals, such as elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, and many more. Nyerere National Park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, so you will spot many bird species. The day game drive will continue until sunset, when you will be returned to Mloka Safari Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Early in the morning, you will be served coffee and begin a walking safari to explore the African bush. You will have a chance to see small animals that cannot be seen clearly from the safari vehicle and track animals throughout their tracks. Thereafter, you will be returned to your accommodation for a full continental breakfast.

After breakfast, you will check out and embark on a trip to Mikumi National Park. Your drive will pass through a Mlandizi village where you can take in the interesting sights along the way. Depending on when you arrive at the Mikumi National Park, you may enjoy an amazing sunset game drive. If not, you will check in at Camp Bastian Mikumi for dinner and your overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and drive to the Udzungwa Mountains. After arriving and registering at the gate, you will climb the Sanje route to see the 4-stage waterfalls. Udzungwa is one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots where you can expect to see 11 different primate species, 2 of which are found nowhere else in the world. You may also have the opportunity to see habituated Sanje mangabeys, different endemic plant species, birds, reptiles and amphibians, butterflies, waterfalls, and more. In the evening, you will return to camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

You will wake up early and embark on a sunrise game drive. After the drive, you will return to camp for breakfast and then continue your game drive, with a packed lunch to enjoy along the drive. In the park, you should expect to see lion, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, impala, warthog, elephant, hippo and more than 300 bird species. In the evening, you will return to camp for dinner and settle in for your overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will check out and visit a Maasai village in Mikumi Morogoro. On the tour, you will have the opportunity to see the Maasai's traditional dancing and learn about their culture. You will also have time to take pictures. After this trip, you will return to Dar es Salaam. Lunch will be at your preferred place in Morogoro town on the way back to Dar es Salaam. After arrival, you will be dropped off at your location in Dar es Salaam, which will mark the end of your safari.
